Cinema Paradiso
Film's about films had always been a fascinating genre for me. Giuseppe Tornatore's mesmerizing, bittersweet film about a young boy, his love for movies, and the relationship he forms with the town's projectionist is unforgettable. At its core, Paradiso's main theme is obviously the love of cinema. It's a celebration of youth, friendship, and the everlasting magic of the movies. A near perfect achievement set to Ennio Morricone's warm, captivating score. Wonderful finale. The film celebrates the medium's ability to bring a group of rather disparate people together for a couple of hours to indulge in a pastime that, for some, is a nice escapist diversion.
